Chapter 1 – New Beginnings

Bronwyn looked out across the fields of her new home and wondered again why she had felt the need to uproot herself and travel all this way.

It was beautiful here and very tranquil. Yet all she had been able to afford was a plot of land and then only had enough money left to build a very small house.

Was she crazy? The sudden tragedy that had robbed her of her parents had made her feel that she needed a new start. Still, it had been more than that, something had drawn her halfway across the country. She hadn’t wanted to explore her feelings too closely. She had felt so lost when her parents died that any purpose was preferable to the ache in her heart. This place felt right and so she had come here and used up all her remaining money to buy her own piece of land. She wasn’t even sure how she would eat before her first paycheck came in.

As she stared out across the neighbourhood she spied one of her new neighbours walking towards her. Bronwyn smiled broadly and introduced herself.

As it turned out Cecilia was very friendly and they hit it off almost immedately. Before she knew it they were lying on the grass together gazing into the clouds.

Cecilia was so easy to talk to, suddenly Bronwyn felt less lonely. Cecilia was a freelance programmer.

Cecilia took Bronwyn to the town and introduced her to some other residents. Everyone was so friendly and Bronwyn felt that village life was going to suit her.

  1. It’s important to heater people we share life with.

Glad Bronwyn found someone kind to welcome her.
